What a great name for a technique! LOL I finally got around to doing this (another technique completed to cross off my list!) as a few weeks ago Jayne, my upline, challenged us to try it. I had no idea what 'thumping'was or what it involved. For those of you more advanced stampers, you probably know this but I will go over it very quickly for those that haven't heard of it (like me!). The way I did it for this card was I inked up my tree image with old olive, then using my chocolate chip marker (the brush tip end), I dotted it over the image randomly. So randomly in fact, I turned me head once while my son was talking to me! LOL It is that simple.
I CASEd the colours of this card from the UK catalogue and the image of the tree but changed the layout a bit.
I needed another 'male' card, this time for my brother whose birthday is next week. I really should do more cards for men and keep them aside so they are ready to use but if you are like me, you find male cards hard to do.
Look, I even stamped the envelope. I usually forget to do this! LOL All I did was 'huff' (is that the right word?) on the stamp - even though it had been sitting there for a while, I didn't re-ink it. The image isn't as strong at the card but a very nice subtle image.
You can see the thumping technique better in the photo.
I'm pretty sure my brother doesn't look at my blog so I think I am safe posting it here! LOL I guess I will soon find out!
Happy Stamping,
.
